Requirements to become a VACC Austria controller

  • The applicant is required to obey the Rules of VACC Austria.
  • The applicant is expected to participate in the austrian Airspace at least 10 hours per 180 days
  • The applicant has to be at least 16 years old

Register your VATSIM account

If you are not already a VATSIM member, go to the VATSIM Homepage and create your account. Make sure your account is assigned to VATEUR (Europe) Region and VATEUD (Europe without UK and Russia) subdivision.


Check your VATSIM region and sub-division assignment

Go to the VATEUD Certificate Website, log in and check if the region shows "EMEA", the division "EUD" and the country "Austria". Here you can change the region MyVatsim Region Settings. To change division and our country within VATEUD, please visit VATEUD changing vACC or division

At this point we strongly recommend that you connect to the network and fly around for several hours to get a feeling on the pilot side and spend some hours at observing active controllers in Austria, as well. Feel free to chat with other pilots and controllers in our Teamspeak Voice Chat and share your experience with us in our Forums. Remember, the best controllers are also pilots, however, having (virtual) pilot experience is not a requirement but a recommendation from our side.
