Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor. Each trainee requires an extensive amount of time and we are undoubtedly glad to see you would like to return the favor.

Requirements

Members may apply provided they

are at least 18 years of age. For exceptionally eager fellows the absolute minimum age may be amended to 16 years.
see VACC Austria as your VATSIM home and care for no other FIR's procedures in a way you do for LOVV's and for no VACC's internal affairs like you do for ours.
enjoy our community and have spent countless hours there within; controlling, flying etc.
tend to be sociable and know how to communicate with people your age, profession, beliefs but most importantly with those of completely different kinds.
know what you do and how to exceedingly well manage at least the station you plan to give lessons on.
have finished your own training (C1 rating) or accept and plan to put your own training aside for the sake of that of others for a considerable amount of time.
are able to commit significant hours on a regular basis.

ATC training reserves the right to deny such applications after internal review.

Expectations and Life Cycle

Bear in mind "obtaining" the privileges of a mentor comes with an obligation to "provide". You will be expected to continuously engage in ATC training as far as you are able to.

Should you no longer be able to provide the amount of input you expect yourself to, you may at any time step back from your position. Please contact ATC training to proceed.

Services given to Mentor/Trainer staff by Training Department

Certified training material
Support via E-Mail within 48 hours
Advanced education on a quarterly basis
Possibility for a leave of absence status (maximal 6 months in 2 years)

Removal from the status “Mentor/Trainer”

Upon receiving his/her resignation
Inactivity for more than 3 months without any notification given to the Training Department
“Leave of absence”-Status has been exceeded
Disciplinary action

Procedure of the Status-Removal “Mentor/Trainer”

An email * shall be sent to the Mentor asking for clarification by the Training Department
If no proper email - training@vacc-austria.org - has been received from the Mentor within 7 days, the Training Department reserves the right to revoke the status “Mentor/Trainer”.
